Southern Pine's Annual Holiday Food Drive
Thank you to everyone who donated non-perishable food items for our ninth consecutive Holiday Food Drive. Members were so generous and we were able to donate the collected food to four area food banks: Catawba Springs Baptist Church, Church of Christ (Evergreen), Atmore Christian Mission, and Frisco City First United Methodist Church.
Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box Ministry
Once again this year Southern Pine Electric Co-op offices served as Relay Stations for the Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box Ministry. We collected shoe boxes in all four offices from Monday, Nov. 3 through Wednesday, Nov. 19. At the end of our collection time period we had collected 2,246 shoe boxes which were delivered, courtesy of Evergreen Transportation, to the Drop Off Station in Tillman's Corner.
Thank you for helping us remember less fortunate children all across the globe this past Christmas by packing and sending a shoe box gift. For more information on this worthy program, go to the Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box Ministry section of this web site or go to www.samaritanspurse.org.
