Southern Pine - A Touchstone Energy Cooperative
Community Commitment

Have you ever heard of Ground Fault Circuit Interruptors (GFCI)? They are fast-acting circuit breakers that cut off power in less than 1/40 of a second--enough time to save you from getting shocked in the case of an electrical ground fault. If your home doesn't already have GFCIs, they can be installed inexpensively. Most home improvement stores will have exactly what you need.

Project SHARE

Project SHARE is a program that has been developed to provide emergency assistance to our elderly and disabled neighbors who need help paying their energy bills.

Clients in need apply for Project SHARE assistance through their local American Red Cross Chapter. Eligibility requirements for Project SHARE recipients are set by the American Red Cross and must be met in order to qualify for assistance.

Project SHARE is funded by electric utility customers and electric co-op members who donate through their monthly utility bills. All donations are then forwarded to the American Red Cross, who administers the program. Project SHARE is literally a cooperative effort to help our neighbors in need.

To participate in Project SHARE, you may pledge to contribute any other whole-dollar amount you choose each month. The amount you select will be automatically added to your electric bill each month.

You may download Southern Pine's Project SHARE enrollment form. Complete the form and mail it to: Southern Pine Electric Cooperative, P.O. Box 528, Brewton, Ala.  36427; or carry it in to your local Southern Pine office.
