This year, 2013, is the 75th anniversary of Southern Pine Electric Cooperative. In 1938 a group of local farmers and other residents banded together to find a way to bring electricity to the rural homes and farms of this area. They incorporated what is now known as Southern Pine Electric Cooperative. Through much sweat and tears, these local pioneers were finally able to electrify the rural areas of Baldwin, Conecuh, Covington, Escambia and Monroe counties.Make your plans to attend the 75th Anniversary Annual Membership Meeting on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013!

Compact Fluorescent Bulbs

Think about this! If every American home replaced just one light bulb with an Energy Star rated compact fluorescent bulb (CFL), we could save enough energy to light more than 2.5 million homes for one full year.
