For approximately more than 32 years Southern Pine has sponsored its Member Task Force program. Each year 12 couples or individuals from each of the co-op's four districts are invited to participate in this project. These forty-eight couples/individuals meet once each quarter to learn more about their cooperative and how it operates.
Participating members view presentations and listen to staff members as they cover a variety of subjects, ranging from annual cooperative financials, to generator safety, to energy audits and other programs offered only to Southern Pine members. Task Force members are invited to express their opinions on a variety of subjects and ask any questions desired.
Present and past Task Force members often become ambassors for the cooperative in their local communities. Many Task Force members also volunteer to assist Southern Pine staff during the Annual Membership Meeting each year--assistance that is greatly appreciated. So the next year when you attend the Annual Meeting, look for those friendly and helpful folks dressed in red shirts with Southern Pine logos. They are some of your current year's Task Force members.
